Ascorbic acid is the molecule l-C6H806. It's a very simple molecule. When it was discovered, it was first named hexuronic acid. Later, it was named "vitamin C" to the objection of most of the nobel-prize winning scientists that worked with it. "Ascorbic" means "anti-scurvy" and most disease symptoms are essentially localized scurvy. Animals synthesize it internally by converting glucose (blood sugar) to ascorbic acid using 4 enzymes. Humans are missing the 4th enzyme, so we don't make it. As long as it's pure l-C6H806 it works to resolve disease symptoms and heal. There are several ways that we make it in factories and generally buying pure ascorbic acid gets you what you're missing internally.

Dr. Thomas Levy has done some amazing work with Vitamin C. Book on Amazon. Many interviews on yt. Highly underrated nutrient. He recommends Liposomal to get past the bowel issue.
